Pilates is not a fitness fad; it is a holistic concept that will not only make you feel fitter and more flexible, but will also enrich your whole way of life. The series of movements will change how your body looks and give you a new physical poise and greater mental strength

Joseph Humbertus Pilates was born near Dusseldorf, Germany in 1880. He first developed the technique to help strengthen his frail body after being plagued with asthma and rickets as a child. Interned during the First World War, he taught his method to fellow internees and successfully helped keep them strong and healthy until the war ended.
